Desata Analytics, Inc. (“Desata,” “we,” “us,” “our”) operates desata.io and the tools accessible through it. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

What We Collect

Information you provide

When you submit a contact form or request access to one of our tools, we collect the information you enter — typically your name, email address, institution name, and message content. Contact form submissions are processed through a third-party form-processing service.

Information collected automatically

When you visit desata.io, our hosting provider may collect standard server log data, including your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. This data is used for site performance and security purposes.

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. We do not use advertising trackers or sell data to third parties.

Cookies

We use only cookies that are necessary for site functionality. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to your inquiries and requests
• Provide access to our tools (Loan Limit, Clarified, Offer Letters)
• Improve our site and tools based on aggregate usage patterns
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. The one exception is described below under “Referencing institutional interest.”

Referencing institutional interest

When you sign up to express interest in Clarified, you agree that we may reference your institution when we describe interest to prospective investors, lenders, and partners. We may state that an individual at your named institution has expressed interest in Clarified. We describe this as individual interest. We do not represent that your institution has endorsed, selected, committed to, or decided to adopt Clarified, and we do not pair your institution’s name with your name or title in these communications. We do not use institution logos or seals.

You can withdraw this permission at any time, and we will remove your institution from future materials, by emailing info@desata.io.

Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of third-party providers that may process your data on our behalf, including a hosting and content-delivery provider and a form-processing provider. These providers process data only to deliver their services to us, not for their own purposes.

Data Retention

We retain contact form submissions for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and maintain a record of our communications. Server logs are retained according to our hosting provider’s standard retention policies.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at info@desata.io. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.

If you are located in a jurisdiction with specific data protection laws (such as the GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights. Contact us and we will work with you to address your request.

Children’s Privacy

Our site and tools are designed for financial aid professionals at Title IV institutions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
